Some questions you should ask yourself before starting the blog process is, what do you want your audience to get from your blog? This is a great opportunity to create blog posts that are specific to your audience. For example, if you own a dental practice, you may want to consider what your patients ask you on daily basis. This could be, “How much toothpaste should you use?” or “Why does my tooth hurt after a root canal?”. These topics are directly related to dentistry and can boost your search rankings.
2. Know your Keywords
This is where blogging for search engine results comes into play. By performing keyword research before you write your next blog post, you can make your blog more appealing to search engines. Going back to our dentist example, by creating a blog post on “Why does my tooth hurt after a root canal?”, you will see that the keyword “root canal” is popular in a search. In turn, when people search for “root canal”, because you added the root canal keyword throughout your blog, your organic search rankings will be higher. Does your company have a Google Adwords account? If so, you can easily run a keyword to search to give you search relevant topics for your blog via the Google Keyword Planner tool.
3. Make it Fun!
Being that blogging is a great way to reach out to your audience, make it enjoyable. The beauty of blogging is that it doesn’t have to be incredibly formal, have fun with it. If you have someone in your organization that loves writing and also loves your industry, have them create blog posts. You will see that sharing information through blogging is truly enjoyable and manageable task.
