I’m excited to announce that I’ll be part of their 2017 Marketing Summit on Demand Generation, Content Marketing, and Marketing Analytics. As part of the summit, I’ll talk about search engine optimization (SEO) on February 14, 2017 at 9:00 am MST. The 45-minute session is entitled Search Engine Optimization Success: What Is Working Today; What Will Work Tomorrow and I hope that you’ll be able to join us.
One of the Least Expensive, Yet Most Effective Ways to Boost Sales
Undoubtedly, SEO and digital marketing are some of the least expensive, yet most effective ways to grow a business. We know SEO works and proof is in the pudding. Take a look at the Google Analytics screenshot below. This real customer examples shows that we’ve helped them increase Google organic search traffic, year-over-year, by 94%. This ultimately resulted into an increase in revenues, directly related to new Google organic search traffic, by nearly 70%:
Keeping Up with Google’s Algorithm
During the presentation, I’ll take a closer look at Google’s algorithm, which is the way Google determines the order of search engine results. The search giant’s algorithm is probably the best kept secret nowadays and it is getting smarter and smarter all the time with over 600 updates a year. There are all kinds of things you could (or should) do to improve the visibility of your website, such as maintaining the health of your website, producing high-quality content, implement a social media marketing strategy that supports your overall marketing efforts; the list goes on. If you don’t know where to start, I recommend you read Google’s webmaster guidelines.
One thing you can count on is that the way Google processes the billions of existing web pages is always changing. Google does this to keep up with all the new websites (nearly 140,000 new websites are created every day!), to return high-quality content and to account for all the queries that are submitted.
One trend that will continue in 2017 is that websites need to be mobile friendly. Google searches on mobile devices are now outnumbering searches on desktop devices, so if you’re site is not optimized for mobile search, you’ve missed a great opportunity. This article offers a ton of useful information on how to make your website mobile-friendly.
Implementing an SEO Strategy
The amount of content available on the Internet is astounding with search engines usually returning hundreds of thousands if not millions of results for queries. By systematically implementing a digital marketing strategy, you can move up the ladder of search engine results and beat your competition. Since people usually click on the first few organic search results, you want to be there – not your competition. Clicks equal visibility which can lead to increased sales.
The good news is that SEO is very doable and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. I’ve developed an SEO methodology, which has worked for my business and customers as you can see from the example above. I’ll share my methodology with you during the presentation. However, I can really only scratch the surface in a short talk so please read my article on What Is Search Engine Optimization or consider attending one of our SEO trainings where we can get more in-depth about how to apply the methodology.
