Bringing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) In-House

Do you work for a more traditional marketing, public relations or even a web design agency that’s been around for a while? Are your existing and potential new clients starting to ask for help with their search engine optimization (SEO)? I bet they are. I’ve recently seen a big increase in requests from agencies to teach them our SEO methodology so they can increase their offerings without having to outsource these tasks to other SEO agencies.
It’s Not That Hard
The more traditional marketing agencies often outsource SEO and digital marketing tasks because of restrictions on their own in-house resources and capabilities. This can work out fine but they often have to mark-up overall project costs significantly to still squeeze out an acceptable profit margin. What if I told you that through SEO training, your agency could offer your clients SEO capabilities that wouldn’t be too difficult to implement?
Stick to Your Guns… But Add New Ammunition
I’m very passionate about online marketing and frequently speak about the topic at conferences around the globe. When I talk to conference attendees, I usually hear they are really good at their core competencies but somehow missed the boat when it was time to learn the ins and outs of digital marketing. There’s always going to be demand for more traditional marketing services and I recommend you don’t completely abandon what you’re really good at… but why not add some new ammunition to your existing arsenal of weapons that are already working.
It’s a Great Time to Get on Board: Find the SEO Training That’s Right for You
Well, realizing there’s an issue is the first step in solving the issue and it’s never too late to get on board! There’s no shortage of SEO and digital marketing training available out there, you just have to find the right fit for you.
We offer a variety of digital marketing training courses and we hope to see you at an upcoming workshop here in the Denver area or online via Livestream.
A huge part of succeeding with SEO is researching and discovering target keywords in order to drive organic search traffic to a website. The SEO keyword research group exercise gets attendees excited and motivated to dive deeper while learning how to implement these keywords throughout their on-page optimization and content marketing efforts.
Once we’ve identified the target keywords you want to be found for in Google searches, we show you how to optimize every page of a website, including:
- Meta Tags
- Image Tags
- Alt Tags
- Content optimization
- URL structure
- Hyperlinking and much more
A very important part of any SEO strategy is off-page optimization. In other words, anything that happens outside of your website to tell Google that your website is relevant for certain keywords and phrases. In this part of the training, attendees learn…
- How to evaluate their website’s backlinks
- How to develop a high-quality backlink strategy
- How to put optimized business listings to work for them
- How to take advantage of high-quality directory listings
- How to get the most out of search engine optimized press release strategy
- How to take advantage of document sharing sites (aka “Piggyback” sites) such as LinkedIn, About.me, etc.
Is SEO Training Right For Me?
It depends; if you’re interested and eager to learn cutting-edge and useful knowledge that will help you help your clients—while making more money at the same time—then yes. If the answer is no, then the workshops are probably not a good fit.
You Get What You Pay For
Whatever you do, please don’t outsource your SEO needs to some cheap offshore agency because that’s what you’re going to get: cheap SEO that will get your client blacklisted from Google! The Google approved online marketing principles that you’ll learn in our workshops are applicable to any sized business and you’ll be able to replicate them over and over. You can keep your SEO work in-house by educating your employees and by empowering them to take on new and interesting tasks.
I invite you to reach out to me with any questions you may have and hope to meet you in person at one of these events in the near future. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn if you’d like to keep in touch.
Best,
Chris
