Google AI Overviews Are Here: The Game-Changer You Can’t Afford to Miss [Recording of AI & SEO Webinar]

Since OpenAI launched ChatGPT, a generative AI chatbot and virtual assistant that creates human-like conversations, in November of 2022, Google had to up its game and follow suit.

Shortly after ChatGPT launched, the search giant unleashed Google Gemini (initially launched as Google Bard), its most capable AI model. Gemini is now seamlessly integrated across Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and many other Google products. According to the search engine giant, its powerful AI technology helps Google users accomplish more in less time.

On May 14, 2024, at Google I/O, Google’s annual developer conference, the company announced that AI Overviews are going live immediately in the United States. The new search feature will be launched gradually in global markets.

Initially launched as Google’s New Search Generative Experience, Google AI Overviews is a new search engine results pages (SERP) feature that provides summaries of popular answers to questions on top of search results:
