Game-Changing Google Business Profile Update for Local Businesses | Friday SEO Tip
Hello and happy Friday! My name is Chris Raulf, and I’m the founder of Boulder SEO Marketing. We’re a super hyper-focused local SEO company working with service companies across Colorado and the US.
Today I have with me Fhul Gerald Asoy joining us from the Philippines. Fhul is here because we want to show you a new feature currently rolling out on Google Business Profile. I checked—I don’t have access to this new feature yet here in the US, which is very exciting for Fhul.
Meet Fhul: Our E-E-A-T Expert
Fhul is a senior engineer focused on E-E-A-T — experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness. His work centers on everything that happens outside of a website to help Google understand and trust a person or company, which is incredibly important in today’s AI-driven search landscape.
He’s been with Boulder SEO Marketing for almost three years and specializes in off-site signals, with a significant focus on Google Business Profiles. From optimizing profiles to managing citations, he handles the kind of behind-the-scenes work that strengthens a brand’s online presence.
Fhul is also incredibly detail-oriented, which is why he leads our team in the Philippines on this initiative. We’re very grateful for the expertise he brings.
The Discovery: Native Scheduling
During our daily huddle with the entire team, Fhul brought up a new feature that he saw on Google Business Profile. Here’s what he discovered:
“One struggle that I currently experience on Google Business Profile is the posting, because Google Business Profile doesn’t really have that scheduling option, which other sites have. So if we ever have a social media calendar or scheduled social media posts for a specific date, we can’t do that directly in Google Business Profile. We need to use third-party applications or third-party websites for us to schedule those posts.”
But after checking today while doing the daily Google Business Profile check and postings for one of our clients, Fhul discovered a pretty good update.
The New Scheduling Interface
When you click on “Add Post” in your Google Business Profile dashboard, there’s now a “Schedule this post” option right there. This wasn’t available yesterday. This is brand new.
You can now schedule Google Business Profile posts, updates, or events directly in the Google Business Profile platform.
Live Demo: Scheduling a Webinar Post
During our session, I asked Fhul to schedule a post about our upcoming local SEO webinar to demonstrate how this works.
While Fhul was setting this up, let me quickly talk about what you’re seeing. On the back end, that’s the Google Business Profile dashboard. As a local service business, this is one of the most important platforms that you absolutely have to be on. It’s a free tool from Google that lets us communicate directly with the giant search engine.
The information we’re posting here will now be published directly on the Google platform. It’s as easy as that. We publish content directly to Google and let the search giant know we’re publishing about something of interest.
The Process: How to Schedule a Post
Here’s what Fhul did:
Step 1: Add Your Content: Fhul added information about the local SEO webinar in the description field.
Step 2: Add Visuals: He added a visual. This is critically important – don’t just publish text. We’re not text-processing machines as human beings. Make sure you include a nice visual. And yes, you can add more than one visual if you want.
Step 3: Schedule the Post: We then scheduled it. We decided to publish it later that day, around noon, when people are online searching for open SEO webinars.
Of course, we had to deal with the time difference since Fhul is in the Philippines, working through the night for us.
Step 4: Add Your CTA: Fhul added the “Sign Up” CTA button with the link to the webinar registration page.
Step 5: Click Post: Then you just click on “Post,” and it schedules it. The system shows “Scheduled for November 7” and you’re done.
Why This Is a Game Changer
Being able to schedule Google Business Profile posts directly in the platform is one of the best updates Google has rolled out in years. Here’s why this is such a big deal:
No More Juggling Multiple Tools. You can finally integrate your Google Business Profile posts into your overall social media calendar without needing separate third-party apps. Everything lives in one place. Plan your content once, schedule it, and move on with your life.
Batch Your Content Like a Pro. Imagine sitting down for an hour on Monday morning and scheduling an entire month of posts. Done. No more daily posting stress. No more letting your profile go dark because you got busy. Your content automatically shows up, keeping your business visible even when you’re focused on serving customers.
Stop Paying for Tools You Don’t Need. Those third-party scheduling platforms? They’re charging you monthly fees just to schedule Google Business Profile posts. That money stays in your pocket now. Invest it somewhere else or take your team out for lunch instead.
True Set-It-and-Forget-It Freedom Schedule posts once, and they publish automatically at the exact times you chose. Plan out your entire quarter if you want. Your Google Business Profile stays active, your rankings remain strong, and you don’t have to think about it every single day.
One Dashboard, Total Control. No more logging into three different platforms just to manage your posting schedule. Your Google Business Profile dashboard now handles everything – creation, scheduling, and publishing. It’s finally as simple as it should have been from the start.
Important Rollout Information
Please keep in mind that this new feature is currently being rolled out globally. I don’t have access yet here in Boulder, Colorado. Fhul has it in the Philippines.
Google is rolling this out slowly in global markets. If you don’t see it in your dashboard yet, don’t worry—it’s coming. Check back regularly.
Why Google Business Profile Matters
Your Google Business Profile is critical for local SEO. It’s how you:
- Appear in the local map pack
- Show up in “near me” searches
- Display your business information directly on Google
- Collect and showcase reviews
- Post updates and announcements
- Add photos and videos
- Communicate business hours and services
Every post you make, every update you share, and every piece of information you add helps Google understand your business better and rank you higher in local search results.
