Time to Adjust Your Strategy Post-Google's March 2024 Update

I’m excited to announce that Google’s March 2024 core update has officially rolled out. It concluded on April 19. As with every core algorithm update, you want to make sure your site has not been negatively impacted. If that turns out to be the case, though, you should take a proactive approach and address it sooner rather than later.

To see how the update affected your site’s rankings, head over to Google Search Console. I also recommend comparing metrics from the last 28 days to those from one year ago to see how your site is doing in terms of organic traffic. This is an easy way to determine whether any major updates have impacted your site. Check out the video above to learn more.

On another note, Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE) was renamed. It’s now called “AI Answer.” To see how it works, check out the video above for a brief demo. Google is still testing it—if you opted in, you should already see AI-generated answers for your queries—but I imagine it will roll out globally very soon.
